Magnolias

Hey there guys and gals!! This is my third video. It's running as part of a package which includes a story about "Steel Magnolias," accompanied by excellent photos. My point of view for the video is a behind the scenes perspective!
I was really excited to film this because I used to be a theatre major. Being back with the costumes and makeup and lights (oh my!) was a lot of fun. Maybe that's why I was able to edit it so fast!
It took me about five hours to get it done, and considering that my first video took 10 hours to finish it's a really big feat for me.
The hardest part about doing the video was the different kinds of lighting I had to work with. There was florescent lighting, tungsten and what I call, "regular lighting" (which is lighting from a bulb). So, I had to constantly work with my aperture, which was frustrating when I was trying to shoot quickly or talk with people.
But, Dr. Lo showed me how to make clip adjustments to make the shots flow better. Play with some of the tools under clip adjustments! It's actually really fun!
See you all in class next Friday!

Good shooting to you all!!!!!

  1. This is by far the best work of yours. Glad to see you improve. I think part of the reasons the video was so good and be done so fast are that you know the content of the video well. You are familiar with the activities and you know what you want.

I am amazed you can still have all those controls on the adjustment of color balance and exposure at the same time to think of getting those different clips. Great job.

I will take a little bit credit if you would give me.

    Keep up the good work.
